Day 1- getting there, eventually!

Hey guys!! We have finally arrived in The Gambia! After the excitement of getting through security with no problems (apart from Debi's 4 pairs of scissors!) and grabbing our hands on anything and everything from duty free, we boarded the plane! We all took our seats on the plane... the excitement was building and building. Then, the excitement suddenly was stirred by anger (well, moody tired teenagers over reacting). We ALL had to get off the plane and go through all the security again! After getting our drinks taken off us that we had just bought in duty free... coz we didn't have receipts. After the Live! Staff nearly blew up (not literally, although that could have been the security risk and the reason we had to get off the plane!) We all boarded the plane... again... and eventually took off at 9.40am. After being awake for over 24hrs now, most of us had a sleep on the plane...apart from the select few who were sat at the front of the plane... by a... well... overly friendly drunk woman... to put it nicely. When we got off the plane, the staff from the gunjur project came to pick us up and take us to a local hotel for the night. There are monkeys everywhere! Fingers crossed the don't pinch our wet underpants and bras... as we all jumped in the pool as soon as we got there... it was hot and we were inpatient... you know that you would do it after all the shannanigans that have taken place!

We are now sat having a lovely dinner on the beach front!
